Description of the issue

In the game Outer Wilds, the color of the outer space is grey instead of black, and, as soon as we take off with the rocket, it just makes the game almost unplayable.

The space on the start screen of the game is grey instead of black too, but this is not a big deal.

Then, we start the game on the planet, everything is running fine.

We can also see the bug when we want to take a nap, when approaching the camp fire

But, as soon as we take off to deep space, the space becomes grey and then it's hardly playable (impossible to control the spaceship correctly because we can't see anything)

It seems there were already a bug report on the original Ryujinx git for that issue but, it's not accessible anymore and didn't get archived by the WayBack Machine:
[Bug] "Outer wilds" space background shows gray instead of black · Ryujinx/Ryujinx@2f427de

Also, this post on Reddit is talking about it. I am on macOS so I can't test with Steam:

Reproduction steps

  1. run "Outer Wilds" on the Ryujinx on macOS Sonoma/M1 mac (I don't know about other platforms) (I have tried with 18.1.1 and 19.0.0 firmwares)
  2. on the home screen of the game: already, you can see the space is grey instead of black (I suppose, no need to launch the rocket to verify if a fix is working, just check if the home screen is grey or black should be a good indicator)
  3. start the game
  4. you can play correctly while on the planet
  5. then get to grab the launch code in the observatory, go back to the rocket, then launch the rocket
  6. the space is grey instead of black and it's definitely not playable

I never tried with Yz, but I've heard it was fixed on Yz before Yz was shut down, it was related to Vulkan handling (it's not off-topic so no need to mark it "off-topic", thank you, it's 100% related to the topic)

Please read the name of the repository you are commenting on. Yes, it's obviously a Vulkan bug, we don't need to talk about DMCAd projects to realize that, nor does it add any useful information.
