Overview

When using steam to run the emulator/emulated-games, the emulator completely ignores steam input, this is especially annoying when trying to use multiple controllers on a steam deck as 99% of the time it requires you to manually set the players/controllers up.

Nature of request

Add an option in the controller menu to instead use the regular SDL selection, (such as SDL-1, SDL-2).

Why would this feature be useful?

This would do two things;

  1. Provide an alternate means of setting up controllers which players might prefer instead of the current method.
  2. It should allow steam input to decide who/what controller gets player 1, 2, etc. allowing for easy multiplayer on steam deck!

I second this! This is really the last feature that Ryujinx is missing to be the perfect emulator on the Steam Deck.

This has a few added benefits too:

  • People who use a controller to navigate Steam Big Picture and have added shortcuts to directly launch specific games with Steam ROM Manager will no longer need to plug in a keyboard and mouse to configure controller settings. We often need to launch Ryujinx settings and configure game controllers whenever the number of controllers changes.
  • It becomes possible to easily rearrange controller order once Ryujinx is launched. This is important because Ryujinx does not always remember controller order.
  • Controller mappings that have already been set up in Steam can be used by Ryujinx.
