Overview

The overall goal would be to create NAND compatibility between different emulators, so one NAND directory can be shared by both.

Smaller details

As a prerequisite, this would require adding the possibility of configuring the NAND install location.

Nature of request

There was a similar issue on the old repo and the user who created it eventually also created a PR that attempted to do some of what was required (or at least the user-definable NAND location part). I apologise, I do not recall who it was or other details.

It's debatable whether fully NAND-installed games also need to be supported at first. I think that could be a separate feature request, with this basically laying the groundwork.

I suppose shared saves could be a possibility, though, since they can already be transfered.

This request also presupposes that the different yuzu-based continuations won't change the details of the current implementation at some point, leading to fragmentation.

Why would this feature be useful?

It would make game storage less wasteful, since users who mainly run the yuzu-based continuations wouldn't need to keep around their update and DLC NSPs, as well as making testing/switching/migrating between emulators easier.
