Description of the issue

I have one controller set globally for player 1. Controller type set to Pro controller. Input device set to controller (0). Playing the first level of the game and absorbing an enemy where Kirby gains their abilities then pressing any face button on the controller prompts a message saying player two has been disconnected would you like to allow the cpu to control player 2? This happens repeatedly over and over by simply pressing a face button on the controller like A. Every player in the controller configuration has the input device disabled. Player 1 has the only controller connected enabled. This seems to have started with the latest release but I'm not 100% sure if that is the case as I have not booted this game in a few months. I've tried deleting all my controller profiles and configurations and the issue persists. Can't find a solution. Doesn't seem related to any mods because I have tested the game with them disabled and enabled. I've tested both my Switch Pro controller and Dualsense on independently. Any help would be appreciated.

Reproduction steps

Boot up Kirby Star Allies and play level 1. Absorb the first enemy with a sword to gain his abilities. Then try to press some of the face buttons like A. See if the message in the screenshot appears.
